05.11.2022.

Where to go on a two-day izlet? Vikend u Osijeku zvuči kao dobra ideja. Put ne mora koštati cijelo bogatstvo, ali će vas obogatiti iskustvima, nevjerojatnim fotografijama, uzbudljivim pričama, novim poznanstvima i onim slatkim malim trenutcima. Evo prijedloga kako provesti vikend u Osijeku.

ACCOMODATION

Choose accommodation in the city center. Staying in the heart of the city allows you to move around without having to use public transport, taxi or rent-a-car. Also, your stay in Slavonia doesn't necessarily have to be expensive. For example, Hostel OS, which is located right next to the main square of Ante Starčević andSt. Peter and Paul’s co-cathedral, offers accommodation from 20 € per night. Inaddition to deluxe double rooms that provide you more privacy, other types of rooms are available at an affordable price.

TRANSPORTATION

It all depends on how you arrived and what you want to see. Traveling by car includes tolls, gas and parking. For example, tolls costs from Zagreb to Osijek amount to around 15 euros. Parking prices in the city depend on the parking zone, and range from 0.27 € to 0.53 € per hour, and up to 2 € for the whole day.

If you are coming to Croatia by plane, count on the costs of the plane ticket to Zagreb as well as transfers to and from the city. The cheapest way to get to the golden cornfields of Slavonia and Baranja is by public transport, i.e. by bus or train, which run every day at a price of 15 €, including a one-way ticket, without a luggage surcharge of approximately 1 €.

When you get to the city, it's all up to you. You will quickly realize that everything is within reach and that you will not have to think too much about how to move around the city. If you want to discover Osijek outside the cultural center of the city, consider renting a regular or electric city bike at a price of 3.99 € for a half-hour ride or rent a bike for the whole day at a price of 25 €, there is also the option of renting a Bolt electric scooter, via a Bolt Bolt application.

FOOD

Take a moment and enjoy the food on a well-deserved vacation! Whether it's a warm pastry from the bakery, fresh fruit from the market or a juicy kebab/tortilla from the local fast food. Find the best location either in the city center or the old city center - Tvrđa, and some of the city's streets or squares. Delicious meals don't necessarily have to be expensive - for example, a good lunch can be around 8 - 15 €. Even the top gastronomic experience of trying the traditional dishes and drinks of Slavonia and Baranja can cost approx. 15 - 30 € per person according to the chef's recommendation.

SIGHTSEEING

The best sights in Osijek are either free or cost a small fortune! You can go on a free walking tour along Kapucinska Street, Korzo in Osijek, towards European Avenue to the walls of the old city core - Tvrđa, water gates and bastions, or explore the historical core and the rest of the city at your own pace. The same applies to other historical and modern attractions, such as Art Nouveau palaces and the pedestrian bridge, "Bridge of Youth". Museum prices vary, but are affordable, the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Slavonia cost 2.65 €, and the Museum of Fine Arts whose entrance fee is 2 €.

SOME THINGS HAVE NO PRICE

Da, možete isplanirati svoje putovanje u Osijek i pritom uštedjeti. Ipak, postoje stvari koje nemaju cijenu. Možda je to samo bijeg od svakodnevice. Možda upoznate nove prijatelje u hostelu ili novog legu i from Osijek or watch the most beautiful zalazak sunca sa Mosta Mladosti i Promenade. U svakom slučaju, vikend odmor u gradu Osijeku je neprocjenjiv.
